what about a chain on the tongue that crosses to attach to the bumper then another chain on the tongue that connects the tongue to the trailer frame.

I bet you would probably never have any trouble from the law with the chains attached to the tongue and nothing running to the trailer frame. most will just look to verify they are there and then move onto something else

Sweet trailer their texaslawman. I have always wondered how people put in a rack for there RTT to sit on and your last pic shows it perfectly :) .

Damn that is GREAT Todd! Your top maker did some good work!

Wait till you see it this weekend! You cant tell in the pictures but each corner has a heavy duty zipper with a velcro flap to protect them. Thing is pretty ugly. But I had some paper back there last night and got it up to 80mph when I got home It hadent even moved. So should keep most of the water and dirt out!!!

Covers look good. How do they do when driving as far as the wind? I am having a cover made for my trailer too, from the same material you used. I decided to just make it cover the top of the tub only. I am using button snaps on three sides and one of those rail inserts, similiar to the ones used for the zipper on the RTT on the fourth side. I will post some pics when it is done, should be end of next week.

I was going to do the snaps too the tarp guy recomended doing it this way so I figured he knew best. Mine hardly moves at all its like a fit glove but it has the bungie type rope at the bottom and zippers reinforced with velcro flaps on each corner.

Nice. I like that a lot, way to think outside the box. Tons more storage space, without much extra weight. A top like that on the Boxrocket frame would make a real nice easy to make trailer.

Wow, it looks great with the cover on. Is there anything to keep rain from sitting on the top, underneath the RTT?

Todd, have you considered making the roll-up sides and roll-up rear functional for shade, maybe in the fashion that the tent uses little poles that prop open a canopy in addition to rolling up... kind of dual purpose for those sides if you catch my drift.

Should be easy by simply pressing a grommet in each corner to catch the poles...

Looks good!

Just a thought, may not be worth the hassle:
