The following day (November 8, 2022) we were right back at it climbing Carter Peak (6,718').....shown below.....the taller of the two cone shaped peaks.....
And again we took the Jeep to the "trailhead" (which is actually an abandoned 4 wheel drive roadway) and began our 3.4 mile roundtrip hike with a total elevation gain of 1,240'.....
It was yet another cold & blustery day in the mountains.....certainly makes the simplest climbs a bit of a challenge.....eventually we encountered a gate and it was basically a foot path for the remainder of the climb.....
Eventually we made our summit.....cause that's just what we do.....
This peak is littered with towers & shacks & all the crap that goes with it.....if there was any good in that it was that they provided us a nice wind break and allowed us to more easily enjoy the views.....
