My M416 Build

Ok i decided to move my build from jeepforum to here(jeepforum is great but it seems here i find better ideas for my trailer):victory:
I need some ideas and pics of what i could possibly do with this thing

This is what I started with
1964 M416

I want this trailer for hauling camping gear and stuff of that nature

Oh and a hugh thanks to mjm for the M416 spread sheet

Plans include but not limited to:
1. New axle with matching 5x4.5 bolt pattern
2. Painted to match my jeep
3. M35 pioneer tool rack
4. Spare tire carrier from a TJ so that i'll have another spare
5. Some kind of bolt in rack to carry my kayak
6. Jerry can storage
7. New floor
8. CJ5 tailgate
9. New stainless steel nuts and bolts
10. New shocks

i plan to weld a new floor in
with the exception of the floor the rest is just surface rust
sandblast the rest

Phil, is that a harbor freight sand blaster? Have you tried it yet? Does it work well? I am looking at the same unit for use on my M416 project.

yes that is the HF sandblaster and yes i am happy with the work you can see in the above two pics( post #7 ) how well it works and for 30 bucks you can't beat it

Please make sure you're using breathing protection when using that sand blaster. If you're using sand you could get a condition call silicosis which you definitely don't want. Just an FYI.

thanks for the info, i actually wear a n-95 mask that i got from work

Good, I'm glad your taken precautions more serious than those little paper masks. I'd hate to see someone check out earlier than already scheduled.

Phil, have you finished blasting the trailer? what media did you use and how much did it take?
