My M416 Trailer Builds - Getting ready to start both builds

I just picked up these two M416 trailers. I have plans to completely restore both of them. I am thinking of customizing one to match my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and for the other trailer I may just try to get it back to as original as possible, but having made up my mind yet. I am leaning very hard at adding a tailgate on the customized one but I would love to see some photos of more people who have done this....I am very pumped to restore these trailers, I have been wanting one for a very long time. So hell, I picked up two when I had a chance.

Congrats - Very nice find. If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the two trailers?

I paid $400 for one and the other one I picked up from a local government that was going to scrap it because it was not being used for "FREE".

Welcome to the obsession, here's a few shots of my tailgate.
Here's the final product.

This is how it started a metal plate welded on the back when I bought it, ordered the tailgate from amazon.




If you are not putting a lid with gas struts on it this will work fine without any support.
I didn't have support initially and this is what happened, the weld cracked.


A little support and it was good to go.


It's a learning process.

Finally Finished one of my M416 Tailgating Trailers

Ok as some know i started working on my m416 back in March and set out to make it the ultimate tailgating trailer which would be like no other. Well look at the photos and let me know what you Think?

Front to back description:


1.Extended landing leg
2.Extended towing chains
3.Cargo box mounted on the front tongue with solar panel, two deep cycle batteries and power converter
4.HDTV 32 inches mounted on a custom adjustable pole with custom waterproof TV cover
5.adjustable pole with dish tailgater satellite dish and dish satellite receiver
6.37 inch sound bar with Bluetooth and fm radio
7.gas grill mount on an adjustable mount.
8. 37 inch tires and 20 inch wheels to match my jeep
9.raptor liner color match tub and black raptor liner inside tub and fenders
10.led rock Lights mounted underneath
11.canvas black cover to protect and cover all my tailgating items
