Where was your frame rusting? I knew that Toyota had a recall on the 01-04 frames too, but I had not heard of that many getting a new frame. Did you notice a difference with the new frame?
Any difference with the wind deflector?

So as a quick catch up. I bought the truck in Nov. 2006 with ~40k and now 7 years later I have just over 200K miles. It has taken my family camping from Nova Scotia to South Carolina, the Outer Banks to teh TN mountains. It moved my daughter to Ohio for college, carried me racing from Ironman USA to bike races all over the southeast. It has been trouble free except for 3 rear axle seals, a new frame, and ..... that is it, the rest is original. I started with with an ARE fiberglass bed cover (could not lock bike up) > to a cap > to a Flippac. The front seats have been replaced with Honda Prelude, back to original to 4Runner seats. I have added a Uniden CB, back up camera (removed) and SAT radio. I still love this truck as much as when I bought it!

Sorry I missed your question. Rusted holes near the rear axle/spring mounts. Toyota replaced a ton of frames - see the tractor trailer full of them. I did not notice a difference in the frame, but my rust wasn't bad/caught early.

The wind deflector has worked for what I wanted it for... keep bugs off the leading edge of the FlipPac.
