My new trailer

I drove 10 hours to pick up my new trailer. It is heavy duty, way overbuilt. I don't plan on using it for extreme overlanding, more forest service roads, and dispersed camping. I may need some help here on how to upgrade the suspension to handle the loads i will be adding, possibly a popup truck camper.View attachment 541553

That trailer looks super nice. I have long wanted one, but all of them I see on Craigslist are pretty janky. Have looked at trying to buy a bed and mount on a military trailer, but that would be big $.

I would recommend trying to get some weight out of the truck bed when going on trips. If that is not practical than get air bags to level it and get some rear wheel travel and clearance. Id cut off the surge assembly and then weld on an extension. For better clearance I would tend to want to weld the extension tube on top and use a raised ball mount once again to get more breakover ground clearance. Get an 8 lug axle with electric brakes.
