My next project, E350 Ambulance???

30 days!?! That would keep my wife happy, I'm thinking closer to two years to get it where I want! (And it wouldn't hurt to find one to start with!) I guess It's a pace, not a race ;-)

Just for sake, here's the dimension for the interior of the cargo box (wall to wall, including insulation and panelling).

Height: 66" (5'6")
Width: 78" (6'6")
Length: 149" (12'5")
Rear doors: width 45" x height 51"
Side door: width 29" x height 67"

Which means if you're under 6'6" you can sleep sideways, bonus! :)

just another suggestion for another vehicle to consider, a van school bus, about same amount of headroom, and all steel for added strength.. plus there are a lot more of those around so, it could be cheaper to get too..

I'm in New Westminster, check your PM...

I have another local "Patrol" friend who's waiting to see how my project turns up to jump on the band wagon, would be easier to fab in triple! :)

I'm not sure if it can be of any help, maybe for cleanline? Anyway I'll post a drawing in a bit with the interior measurements. I printed myself a bunch of copies that I use to configure different interior setups.

Here's a blank canvas of the floor plan for this type of ambulance. Just got a PM from Cleanline, his is a bit larger so it won't be of any use to him but if someone else can access this type of ambulance then they'll be able to use it... The previous pictures I posted are from ambulances getting ready to go on auction, I still don't have one but it's only a matter of time. The last one sold for just under $6000 but had more surface rust than other waiting to be auctioned so I passed...

Dream it build it
Mr. D you just missed a nice one on the Island a few months ago asking $6000 ish for a Ford already 4x4 with under 100,000km on it....only issue was it was a 460 (7.5L) gas but that would make a cummins swap easier..

I have seen two 4x4 for sale in bc in the last 2 months

I saw that one, nice body shape on it but you know me well enough to know I stay clear from gas guzzlers...

I didn't post anything yet on which gears I'll use to convt it on WVO. These engine have a very good reputation in the WVO community but they still seem a bit complicated to work with. Some of the kits I've seen have good praised but are very pricey. They often have automated system, auto-purge... And a price tag over $3000!!! Ouch

In my past 3 trucks I've used mostly PlantDrive parts along with some other parts I'd source around (Racor...) and I've been trouble free for the last 5 years. I learn along the way that keeping it simple is the way to go!

I'll follow up with how I plan on doing the WVO conversion once I'm satisfied with the setup. For now I'm still in the research phase...

The 4x4 conversion is another story all together! I'm not familiar with the Ford platform and I've contacted or read on most of the shops doing conversions. Once I have a better grip on this I'll be making phone calls to discuss each systems with the shops. Chris at Ujoint has quite the followers that comes with a good reputation, too bad he's on the wrong coast;) They advocate for leafs over coils and talk about death wobble... I'll need to hear from the coils conversion as well to make an educated choice fitting my needs.

I was thinking pull the 460 and swap a cummins in

If you could fit (anything can fit :) ) 12 valve cummins in there it would be nicer to work on than the V motors

Easier to work on. and the motor swap would be about equal to the 4x4 swap (cost and time) in the end better product.

I hear the Ford diesel vans are terrible to work on....just food for thought.
