My Perfect Ambulance Platform?

It's coming along nicely. The wainscot is a cool idea. i ordered a bunch of 3M laminate, but it's a son of a B to get on so far. Sadly, i just had to replace the transmission on my war wagon, so no prettying has been done.

Thanks! Yea I had never done the wainscot before and I think it came out really nice. I have to do some finishing work still but it looks good thus far.... Man that is a major bummer about the trans! What happend? You gonna do a "built" trans or just go back to stock?

Im still debating on painting or not but I think i am gonna go ahead and paint it... ughhhhhh

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but is that tile back-splash a vinyl decal of some sort? Loving this rig. Just the fact that it's an OBS Ford really puts the icing on the cake! :)(y)

Also is anyone knows why my ambo would have been installed with a european shore plug Im all ears...

I know you have gotten a couple of answers on this already, but I'll add my two cents also.

As already stated, that is not a European plug assembly, It's a Kussmaul Super 30 Auto Eject, Model #: 091-159-30-120, and yes they are very expensive, but also very good quality. I have the same thing on my rig, but in gray.

Even though I may change mine out to the Marinco Stainless Shore Power Inlet, which I already have, I went ahead and bought the male Kussmaul plug to match the female mounted on the body. I shopped everywhere and the cheapest I found it was was at Emergency Vehicle Parts & Products, for $73.70 ...

KUSSMAUL SUPER 30 MATING CONNECTOR 120V 3 PIN Product ID : 091-159-CON-3P-120

In my case, I have two shore power inlets. One is a 20A and the other is a 30A like yours.

Congratulations on the great find and good luck with it. Looking good so far!

Patoz, thanks for commenting. You have posted on a few of my other builds and I appreciate it. I think I will just go ahead and make up a cable with the unit that is already in it. I think

Also, I have decided to paint it with monstaliner again. I have prepped the cab for paint as of yesterday and today I plan to apply it!

Monstaliner is on "Desert Sand" I think it looks pretty good. The quality of the application was not as high this time around but I think all in all Im happy with the way it came out. Im not sure if they changed something but even with a low humidity day it seemed like it wanted to "set up" quickly so I felt like I was racing to get it done and the quality suffered a bit. Ill be painting the box with a high quality exterior paint like I have before, matched to the monsta.

is this wet after you painted her or is Monsta dimpled like a truck bed stuff? Also planing desert sand.. but then other camo colors in broad curvy/swooping lines like you would see on most of today's RV's

Yea its wet.. I gave it a light misting which they say lets the paint set up quicker. Monsta is a truck bed coating and has a texture but it is not rough like linex, and raptor. I have done 4 ambos with it and it looks pretty good in my opinion. There are some spots where the finish is not perfect but thats to be expected in my opinion. The monsta wants to set up quickly in my climate here in VA for some reason so I feel like Im racing the clock all the time. Also it begins to eat up rollers which leave behind pieces of roller in the paint.

Painted the rest of the box today. Color matched the monstaliner and it came out nice! Have some finish work to do but its looking good!

Yep, looks good from here! ?

I do like that front bumper! I wish I could find something like that for my 2004 F250.

Wow! Looking great. How long did the paint job take with the roller? How many gallons to cover? I was looking on their site, it's a little confusing as to ordering. You bought several gallons and then the pigment color, mixed & applied?

Wanderer
thanks! only the cab is done in the Monstaliner and that is one gallon which is good for the cab and front of box. When you buy you need the gallon, and then you pick the color you want. Mix it up as the directions state and roll it on. It took about 8 hours total to prep, tape, and paint. Today I rolled on a high grade exterior paint which I had matched to the monsta. I have done this before and it works great!

I did the monsta on the last ambo on the box and was just a lot of surface area to cover with the tiny roller they give you, which is a special roller. I found it difficult to cover that much surface before the monsta was setting up to much to use. Especially this time around.... something was making it set up quicker than usual and when that happens the rollers start to stick to the paint. Even tho I was switching out new rollers frequently it did not help and I still got roller bits in it. I like having the cab done because its the one in the wind all the time, rock chips, hail, debris etc:
