my ZJ

Well I got rid of my rusted out YJ so here is my new project. Its already "built" but needs some work

What she came with
- Dana 30/44a
- 4.56s
- oba, CO2, and compressor
- tube rockers
- 6" BDS short arm lift (mix match of part I think but BDS springs and shocks) - sketchy welded in coil buckets to give an extra 2-3" of lift (will be coming out hopefully)
- BFG 35x12.5 MTs on crappy rims

How it looked when I brought it home.

Then I sold the 35" BFG MTs on stock (I think) rims and put my 33x13.5" LTBs and bead locks on.

So here's what it needs (previous owner who I knew through work said it only needed a windshield and alignment for inspection. I had a feeling it might need a bit more)

new steering box
front spider gears
engine mounts
2 ball joints
transmission mount
front track bar and bracket
rear track bar and bracket (have but not installed)
exhaust manifold
spacers removed

after doing a bit of thinking and lot of reading I am starting to lean towards an expo build, which wasn't my original plan. I like camping and haven't done a lot of wheeling in due to limited space due to owning a YJ which was towed to the trails (and I didn't own a roof or doors). Although it won't be anything crazy I plan on setting up for 2-4 day trips but also want to be able to hit the harder trails.

After I get the above problems fixed I plan on long arms, rear storage/sleeping platform, front receiver (have a winch sitting in my basement), and roof rack if needed for the lighter stuff that wont fit inside.

here is my plan for the rear storage box/sleeping platform. Everything will be secured including the box to the floor and the gas/water will have a physical barrier between the two, just be on the safe side.

Automotive ADHD is fun!
looks like a nice start... Really makes that stock Liberty look even smaller than it is!

Clean it up, then get it dirty, then tell us all about it.

thanks, I have been trying to get permission to lift the liberty and a few other things (roof rack, lights, MTs, offset rims, etc) but have been told not until we buy it out from the lease. I think I have enough I have keep me busy on my jeep for now though.

...actually got rid of it. Started to run into problem after problem including electrical issues and other things that were "hidden" by the previous owner. Sold it and put the money towards a down payment because I thought I was going to be posted shortly. So, the down payment for a house is in the bank and once I actually do get posted and have a garage I will start a new project that I can actually fab on. For now I'll be building up my liberty a little (with the potential of it becoming my dedicated future in the next few years).
