mypressi TWIST refreshed Espresso Press

Well, I wasn't impressed with what I pulled from my DeLonghi Caffe Treviso yesterday. Do you know a place close to Monterey where I can see one in action? I'm still on the fence...do you still have more?

I do have more to sell. I don't personally know of any in/near Monterey. I had a Delonghi about 15-years ago...similar experience. Having said that have you experimented with different grind settings, tamp pressure and coffee grounds volume to get the best out of your machine? I'm assuming you also have fresh quality beans? And just in case you don't know: You'll never get there with a blade type coffee grinder. While a blade type grinder is fine for French Press/drip you just can get consistent grind results for espresso making.

All I can offer is that I've been into espresso for nearly 25-years and have owned or do own quite a few different machines, portable and counter, over the years and the mypressi TWIST refreshed really does do an incredible job. Then factor the price and portability and its in a league of its own.

But having said that if you don't start with quality, properly roasted fresh beans and you haven't gotten the correct grind for the machine (any machine!), volume of beans and correct tamp pressure you'll be unhappy with any espresso press. If you are not familiar/experienced with pulling espresso shots the learning curve is steep! But not complicated. Lots of attention to detail is needed in the beginning to get that crema laden magic.

I do include my own instructions that should help anyone that is not totally familiar/experienced with the process of getting good espresso out of their (any) machine with each unit. I'd be happy to send these instructions to you, if it would help you with your Delonghi...just PM me your e-mail address.

You, my friend, are amazing. I'm admittedly not the magician, and I'll take any help I can get. I DO love good espresso, but I haven't been able to achieve it at home.

PM inbound!

Mine showed up today. It's going to take a little practice to get it perfect, but I did make a couple passable espressos before I left work.
Thanks - a pleasure doing business with you again, Dan.

Izzy: Just to clarify: You received my instructions correct? I put a printed copy of my instructions in each box...either in the shipping box or the mypressi box.

Thanks,
Dan

I've got to say, this thing works pretty dang good! I don't know how my shots measure up to the gold standard, but I know I'm really enjoying them!!

However, I learned the hard way about the loss of the little o-ring in the handle. I burned thru two cartridges, thinking they were duds before I stopped to think what the real cause might be. Hint: if your unit sputters, it's probably because the little o-ring is missing. Good thing there's about a half dozen included.

Now I know what that little sticker was pointing to...

Only trouble is, I'm now downing 2 or 3 double shots every morning! Now I'm thinking about springing for a good grinder, and then how to roast my own coffee!

Like many things its a slippery slope :). But a fraction of the cost of an overland rig and camper :coffeedrink:.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your mypressi TWIST!
