I don't think anybody necessarily goes out of their way to assign a name to their rig, but most of these vehicles embody our personality in a way as well as represent significant commitment in terms of time and money. To just say "yeah, that's my truck that I obscess over and spend all my money on" doesn't seem to do the whole process justice. My wife named "Boomer" after we'd owned it for a few months. At first it was a joke, but then it stuck. I couldn't be happier. Boomer is a part of the family now and is something we identify with and also something others identify us with as well.
