I asked this same question in the LR page, but figure this is the right place as it's not car specific, but fridge specific.
I'm building (well, planning) a drawer system for the back of my Disco II with a sleeping platform on top. I wanted to install a fridge that would be flush with the platform. The goal was to use the foot well space behind the front seats. This is narrower than I had hoped (9" with the seats back).
All of the ARBs/Engels that I have found (43q is what I've been shopping for but am open to any size - a cooler can still hold my beer) are about 14-15" wide. Does anybody have a more narrow fridge that works well (cools, doesn't drain batteries, and is quiet at night)?
I feel like if I mount it on the floor of the cargo space, the platform will end up being too high to sit comfortably in. The foot well area would let me drop it down about 6" and make the platform somewhere around 14", which would be ideal.
Thanks!
