NATO can spout craziness

I think where you went wrong was putting the fatter hose in the middle like it would do any good, when you had to neck it down to the small diameter nipple to fit your vehicle's fuel filler opening. That PVC nipple fitting is scarcely any larger than the metal flex line you destroyed / replaced, so what have you gained?

My solution to slow-pouring CARB-addled cans would work as well for your narrow flex line trouble with a NATO filler - a SuperSiphon and a length of hose. Get it flowing and I go do something else for a few minutes and I don't have to stand around holding 50# in the air.

What I do for my Jeep but I don't walk away. Five gallons almost fills it up so if it isn't empty (and the gauge is none too accurate) ya gotta be careful.

I think I would rig a siphon pump with fuel line and a bit of copper tubing to get all the way to the bottom of the jerry can. You could sacrifice a pour spout and make it so you could cap the jerry can while you're siphoning, but that might be overkill.

This was the spout I bought forever ago and it's awesome! I can do a full five gallons in about 60-80 seconds. No idea who makes it where it's from or anything. It looks cast aluminum or pot metal and had that big black hose on it when I got it. I made the cooper bit out of pipe parts years ago. I used to have a zip tie on there for assurances but it broke off a while ago and it's never moved so I never put another one back on. I have two scepter cans and always seem to be reefing on them to get them to close. My commuter has a 10L spare can and my xterra a 20L. I keep and rotate a total of 30gal of fuel
