Need a cheap trash management idea

Ok,
I was looking for ideas on how you guys manage your trash on camping trips. I was hoping to find something of a heavy duty fabric bag...and adapt to hang off my spare tire carrier to keep the trash outside my vehicle during transportation. anybody have any nifty "iders?"

Here is how I do my trash. It's a coffee bag. I bought it from a guy on the Pirate board a number of years ago. He no longer is selling them. It will hold a ton of trash!

Here is a buddy of mine with his. This one is thru Cal4Wheel. If you are a member and go to one of there events they hand them out with every paid entry. Pretty much looks like a large sack that oranges come in.

On the same theme I've seen deployed airbag bags used that way. They're usually made of woven kevlar sewn into a bag and tend to also be quite large.

This dry sack you could hang off a tire.

Here is something for more when you are setup in one place for awhile.

For myself, I would probably get the latter.
When I was up camping at Mt. Rainier last month, I just set the big garbage bag on the picnic table seat.
Not the best way to store it.

Not sure if this fits your logistical style, but I pre-plan to the point that I generate very little refuse. It's not a question of holier-than-thou greenie-ness, just convenience.

The wife and I pre-cook lots of our stuff (home cooked beats pre-packaged!) so we bring re-usable tupperware and the like. Any paper gets burned, aluminum gets crushed and tossed in a small plastic bag for later recycling, and what little plastic I might end up with gets crush, crunched, munched and stuffed in the empty tupperware. It really seems contrived, but it keeps things clean and compact.

You just gave me the right CHEAP idea. Being that I am near farms I will have to keep my eye open for one at a produce packing plant :arabia:

Where possible, I prefer fire. I take little that can't be burned or easily hauled out in a yard bag.

I use a plastic Sportsmans box (waterproof and similar to a plastic ammo can) so that I keep odors inside the truck down. I try not to have too much trash, and always keep it stowed where I can get to it quickly to dump at the gas station.

It actually holds quite a bit and your boot fits nicely in it to make it a "trash compactor".

I found a cheap "dry bag" at wally world.
I put a kitchen garbage bag inside the dry bag and i dont need to worry about the garbage bag getting to heavy and breaking.
I usually store it on the rack or spare tire but with the dry bag i can roll it up and store it in the jeep if nessasary.
Hose out at home after the trip and its all clean.

As in the photos already posted, I use a burlap sack with a black plastic garbage bag inside. I added a few grommets to the burlap sack for places to attach bungee cords.

Although empty burlap sacks aren't as easy to find as they once were, all the bait and tackle shops in my area seem to have them.

I saw a steel ammo can used once that was mounted to the rear spare. I have been looking for something like that. It shuts tight and would be reletively odor proof....

I had great luck with poop bags & general trash....and it will stand on it's on or be part of a table when on its side.
