Need help finding specific info on OME Dakar Spring.

Hi All,
Need help finding out how much lift will OME Dakar leaf spring lift my 06 Taco with 900lbs camper in the back.
I've email TRDParts4U and have confirm the primary spring rate is 182lbs/in and with overload engaged it's 392lbs/in. The spring rate number is per spring. I've Bilstein 5100 on both front and back with the front set to lift 0.85" with stock spring. I'm not looking for lift on the rear just want to take some load off my AirLift air bags.
Anyone know how much will the primary leaf sag before the over load spring engaged?

Do you know what your weight on the rear axle is?? There is no published data on the amount of compression before the overloads become loaded, but a WAG is ~2.5", but with the assumtion you started with 0lbs load. 2.5" is the distance between the overload leaf and the remainder of the pack on an unloaded (not installed) spring.

So using my WAG (if I had a spring on hand to test I could really narrow that down):

2.5 in * 182 lbs/in = 455lbs/spring
455lbs * 2 springs = ~910 lbs before your on the overloads. NOTE, that not payload, thats total load

I have calculators for the coil setups (Taco and 80 Series), basically you tell me your weights, or I have an approx. for different mods (ie. bumpers, winches, tire carriers, etc). It will take all the know variables (all the different OME springs rates, competitor springs rates, spacers, etc) and tell me a "ride height" value... which allows to compare against unloaded and loaded scenarios. However, I don't have this calculator build to include the leaf springs yet. They are a bit trickier as multiple overloads, etc come into play. I do plan to include all of them eventually.

Thanks for jumping in, the weight on the rear axle is around 2940lbs with the camper dry. Weighted on a dump site scale. With water, food and etc that should be around 150lbs more.
You estimate is not far from what I got from ARB. Jim at ARB USA ask the ARB AU and this is the answer from ARB directly. They did the test with around 800lbs so if I go with Dakar, I'm looking at around 1" lift on the rear. :wings: Looks like a good solution.
I've Belstien 5100 on the rear can I use that with the Dakar or I need to get the OME shocks to go with it??

I have gone back over our records. We tested the Tacoma spring with 400kg (880lbs) load in the back. This is close to your customer's 900lbs. With this load the truck sits 25-30mm higher than OE with no load. If you wanted to double check, maybe the warehouse guys could put 900lbs of leaf of coil springs into the white Tacoma. They could then compare heights with the customers truck.

There is an XL option for this spring if he wants to carry the load a little firmer or at more height. Please let me know if you require any further information.

Absolutely... their Nitrocharger shocks are excellent in design and build.. but seeing as you already have some proven Bilsteins (great units btw), I would run them. Just make sure all the lengths jive with the additional lift you might experience, such as with the airbags inflated.
