need help, truck locks with keys in ignition w/running

This is the 5th time this has happened. I start my 1996 LX450, let it warm up, come back in 5 minutes and the truck locks the doors with the key in the ignition. I have read the owners manual thinking there is a setting for this, but to no avail. Also, every now and again, when i press the top button on oem remote door lock, i will get a single "chirp" for lock and two "chirps" for unlock.....but the auto locking doors is becoming a pain in my butt. Is there any way to make this not lock automatically when running/warming up? Thank you........please dont tell me to keep the windows rolled down as that is the last resort.

I don't think they are supposed to automatically lock... However, you can get the rear slider window open without breaking anything if you are careful. Then you can unlock the doors. HTH!

My 80 does the same think but it is a feature IIRC of the alarm? Assume I am sitting in the car and I start the engine and all doors are closed then they lock, every time after perhaps a two second delay? If there is one door ajar (enough to put the dash warning on) then they do not lock, even if I close the one that was left ajar and the engine is still running, so there must be a 'one off' signal pulse to the CL. On one occasion I started the engine from outside and slammed the door shut and they all locked, I was fortunate that I was at a friends house and I borrowed his car to pop to my house and get the spare leaving mine running, I have been told you can force the sliding windows but did not want to break anything.

The lock door signal is only sent when ALL doors are closed so, a faulty or failing door switch can lead to exactly the issue you describe.
