Unfortunately that one is definitely NOT available here in the States. Looks like a 76-Series Land Cruiser 'Troopy'. Here's video of ARB's nicely modified 76-Series...

According to the rumors here in the U.S., the 70-Series Land Cruisers are mythical beasts of such great ability that they can even make a Rover owner go straight Toyota.

I kid, of course.

Also a lot of love here for the 79-Series Dual Cab Ute. To be honest I guess I'd like to have one of each, lol.

Thats not a 79 troopy, rather a 76 wagon. Newest model (new front clip) and yes they're extremely capable and reliable vehicles. From the front clip back, theyre basically the same vehicles they have been since the 80s as far as frame and body goes, the engine was changed from a 3f to a 1fz and the diesels im not sure as we never got them. Since 2007 they changed the front clip, changed the engines from new ones, added front airbags and a couple of safety features which is the model you saw. In 2013 they added ABS braking, the dual cab body to the roster and then said that it will be the last year of the 70 series as we know it. Im sure what will replace it will be awesome but it can never be the same...

The 70 series is not available in the USA because it doesn't meet any sort of the current road safety standards. It only has two airbags, no abs, no traction control, no crash or stability testing, etc..

76 wagon - more than likely up armored

the US embassy here in Bogota just recieved 26 of them from the middle east "lightly" used

I had one parked in my drive way a few weeks ago...the version I looked at had an armoured passenger area and rear boot was not- they had a full glass plate behind the rear seats
