I would look long and hard at getting a DeMello myself. Or at least that's what I plan to do when I eventually hit a deer.

There are some any options like FabFours, Iron Cross, Arb and and Addicted. It will just depend on your budget.

Far as I know, ARB is the only one with crumple zones, designed and rated to work with your airbag system. And you can ********** deer with them all day long, won't even scratch it.

My '07 came with a Fab Fours Elite in diamond plate. I'm kind of 'meh' on it. Purely aesthetically, smooth plate would suit it better imo.

It ruins approach angle worse than an ARB. It was instrumental in a pretty epic 24-hour stuck last summer, catching the lip of the far side of the hole that the tire might have otherwise been able to grab and basically suspending it in swamp time.

The core grille area is pretty stout. It would take a deer no problem, but I'm less sure about a larger cervid (moose are my worry) against the welds for the upright tubing or about how the wings of plate would do in any case. And honestly, what I question most is how apt it might be to put the animal up in the cabin with me rather than push it out of the way.
