Need landing leg ideas

Mine is set up like the one Mario posted up, however, after using mine, I would probably go with the bolt on style verses welding on the pivoting arm thingy...

Mine rocks a little when in the RTT and the bolt on ones seem to be a little more stable when getting up on top.

Just another .o2

Interesting feedback, thanks Rez. I might not have the option to do a bolt-on, since I have that big plate covering the rails in front of the box, and can holders covering the rails behind the box. Not sure i have a place to bolt on a lift. Might be stuck doing the weld-on thing.

Still pondering though.

FWIW the jack that was added to the C.U.T. was bolted to the right side of the triangular tongue on the outside of the tongue. When rolled over horizontal it is above the bottom of the tongue, but the bent part of the handle hangs down.

This is how the jack on the TrailBlazer's new frame was handled.

Where are the Coleman containers? I'm looking on their page and so far not finding anything.

The trailer that I built is a lot lighter than yours so I was able to use much lighter material for a foot.

It is really more of a high clearance utility trailer

By setting the foot about one half of shorter than the hitch I only have to pick it up off of the ball.

Who knows, it might not be what you need, but it might spark an idea for what you want.

Nope, still looking. I had an epiphany and realized I can bolt a trailer jack to the existing landing leg structure, and remove the existing landing leg's foot. But I can't find a side-winding trailer jack that is short enough for that application. The shortest one I can find still doesn't allow me to lower the trailer down onto my Jeep's hitch. It's about 2" too long.

Looking hard at the Fulton F2, as it has an adjustable attach point, and a short-throw crank, it appears, making the whole thing shorter than anything I have come across yet.

Something like this is what I have in mind (unscrewing the existing landing leg's foot to remove it). This allows me to use the current tuck-under swivel on the landing leg.

But, this is the smallest jack I can find, and it's still too tall. It fully retracted and the crank is too close to the tongue above it to operate it.

Any new ideas in a couple months? I need to come up with something and do not like the standard jacks, I have thought about using a car scissor jack welded underneath the tongue so it isn't visable when up.

Thoughts?

Nope, still pondering. The season's over so I have some time. I think I will probably end up with the detatchable swivel kind like AT uses.

I thought about using a scissor jack welded to the landing leg, but I need something with a wheel on it.

Aluminum medical chests sources

Coleman's Surplus and The Sportsman's Guide- the SG has a used one for $99 and a new, unissued one for $79- not really sure about that line of thinking. The two layer new ones are $99- seems they would be better suited for storing kitchen items inside the trailer. Army Surplus Warehouse may have them in stock also. Good luck!
