Need opinion about a high mileage 95 SR

Hello all,

I am talking to a seller of a 95 SR with 192k miles on it. The truck has service records up to 2010/170k miles. It looks like the timing belt was changed at 165k, and was owned by a Mitsubishi technician at a local dealership from 2000-2010. It has regular service records from that time showing dealer service.

Assuming it is in good condition now, should I be worried about a truck with that many miles on it? I will be using it as a off-road/trail riding/expo rig, not a daily driver. Can I expect to get another 50k miles out of it if I stay on top of maintenance? How do these trucks do at 200k+ when well maintained?

Thanks

Sounds like the maintenance is up to date. You should have no problems. There are a lot of good miles left in that Montero.

Dont worry!!

Hey!! the maintenance is there, just check everything on it, check the end on the muffler, if you see any rest of burned oil at the exit, that gives you an idea if it is burning oil or any problem with the engine.
i have a 2000 Dakar Edition with 232,459 miles on it and is in PERFECT CONDITIONS!!!

Thanks all!

I am looking at 95 and a 97 SR's this week. Both have 170k+ miles. Maybe I'll have something by this weekend.

95 has 4.63 gears, 97 is 4.27. i dont know much of any difference other than that. i think the 97 will have a single cam 3.5v6

Nothing yet. Patiently waiting for the right combo of miles, service history, options, and distance on a Gen 2 or 2.5. I've seen good ones but nothing close by.
