So, flatbed is in and the camper is as well. I have forgone boxes on the sides and decided to go with one door covering the sides. At the moment they are half done as I only have time to pick at it. My gold is to have the largest usable space possible so I have flush riveted the plate to the flat bed sides with 1/4 in flush rivets giving me a large smooth-ish surface to work off of. Bulkhead ends will be on in a couple of weeks but it’s enough for me to travel with now as long as I don’t need to secure stuff from sticky fingers. I’m struggling a little with how to lock/latch/handle the sides. I want a large clear surface without any big locks protruding threw the surface. So the locks will be on the ends, or maybe just latches on the ends and some kind of lock that is near flush mounted on the inside in the middle.... still thinking. I sure do like the big, wide, clear work surface. On on end I’m going to attach a 3/4”, 2’ long piece of plywood to act as a workbench if needed. Next projects are finishing the rack and under boxes, maybe some suspension work as well. Took it out on its maiden voyage last week to get the dog away from the fireworks, it handled easy to easy-moderate off reading like a champ.
