Need some RTT input on Howling Moon?

Need some RTT input.

I was hooked on going Eezi Awn or ARB UNTIL I saw this RTT by Howling Moon. I was downtown Santa Fe and I noticed a Disco all done up in Safari colors with a trailer. The owner came out and introduced himself and then offered me a tour of the “toys”. My primary interest was the RTT. As it turns out he is the new national rep for the Howling Moon RTTs in the USA.
I have to say I was very impressed. It is a 3 man and I mean men, not two girls and a baby. It has two moon roofs that open up and provide full lie in bed and enjoy the stars visibility. They have bug nets etc. seal up very nicely. It has an annex which you can either have the floor on or off and the whole bloody thing looked and felt like it could take a lot of abuse. Also had nifty shoe holders and kit holders.

Has anyone had any experience with Howling Moon? I’d love to learn more about what they think – good and bad or neither. Thanks

To my knowledge ... until recently with Afrispoor Trailers, Howling Moon was only available for import (not available in the US).
Tremendous Tent. Great Workmanship.
I have a Conqueror trailer, and even though the tent doesn't say Howling Moon on it, ... I have to believe that the tent is private labeled by them.

They are a tremendous product.

That is encouraging. I have learned they are now availiable in the USA separately. The rep told me he is going to be at the Expo with a couple of tents with him there. He is from South Africa and seemed like a knowledgeable fellow.

I was at an expo last week and experienced the howling moon products. I would buy a howling moon tent over an ezzi awn, set up and storage is about the same. One big thing I like about the howling moon is the undersides of the tent platform are a composite or a plastic rather than a finished wood, less chance of warping and splinters. also the howling moon seamed easier to set up than the ezzi awn I have camped with.

They are very well made, and the other howling moon products are great too, they have lightweight storage boxes with treated canvas cases that'll have you rethinking your camp storage situation.

My brother in law (on the forum as Moody) picked some up at the expo, and he love them.

Well it all sounds good then. I'm going to get the Star Gazer-3 man with the annex and will report back upon purchase and install.
Cheers for the input.

When you do, I'd like to see some details/closeups on the shoe and kit holders you mentioned in the first post of this thread.

Thank you in advance!

The rep at the expo said those were specifically designed for my 5yrold nephew's stinky shoes.

Howling Moon is now in the USA!!

Hello All,
As a new vendor sponsor, I just wanted to introduce myself and our company. My name is Roualeyn de Haas, and I am the owner of Bundu Gear. We're based out of Santa Fe, NM, and are the sole distributors in the US for Howling Moon rooftop tents, awnings, trailer tents, and frame/dome tents. We're also the sole distributor for Jurgens off-road trailers. Please check out our website at www.bundugear.com We'll have more content coming in the next weeks and will have online ordering, but we're of course happy to answer any queries in the meantime.

We'll be at the Overland Expo, with some demo tents, so please come by and introduce yourselves. We're looking forward to meeting you. I spent 8 years as a safari guide in Southern Africa, and loved roaming the countryside in my 110 Defender Tdi, Now I'm in a 95 Disco 5-speed, and a 98 LC 100.

hope to see you all at the show!

I just spoke to Rou on Monday, great guy to talk to over the phone; knowledable. I'm certainly comparing the Howling Moon w/ other RTTs...so wish I could attend the expo!

Looking forward to seeing more detailed pix and info as they come.
