Cool Thanks for that, So in series is actually better in shaded or limited sun light because the input voltage remains high enough to send good power to the battery, even if each panel is only putting out 9v add them together making 18v the MPPT is receiving 18v and it can still put out 14.4-14.8v on the output side to the battery,Voltage/amperage on the input side of MPPT is largely irrelevant - it's still gonna be the same amps at battery voltage on the output side either way.
The parallel vs. series question is about shading, which comes down to bypass diodes. I cover that in this thread...
Roof solar panels, go 2 50w or 100w
so with all this talk about shade on a panel and all that jazz, what does everybody think? do 2 50w panels or a single 100w. I have limited space on my roof rack so cant go much larger. currently i am finishing up my dual battery setup then next up is the 100w of solar with a Victron...www.expeditionportal.com
