This is a turn key expedition truck platform I just listed this on eBay. Here is the listing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/324046880230 The description is copied and pasted below. If you are interested in the truck, you can reach me by email using the address baetruck (at) labsupplycentral.com
---------------------------------------------
For sale is the last new 2012 BAE Systems SD Brazos 6x6 in the world. The the truck is being sold as used because it has been titled before, but the truck has never been used. It has just 300 miles on the odometer from being shuttled between shops for upgrades, maintenance, and occasional short drives to keep the engine in healthy shape during storage. It was shipped to CA on a lowboy trailer and is currently stored in Garden Grove, CA. It starts up easily and runs great. Titled in MT.
This truck is a 6 wheel drive central tire inflation equipped beast with 42 in tires. It's perfect for building an expedition RV, off-road fire truck, oilfield work truck, etc. If your are not familiar with this truck, it is essentially an LMTV with some slight adaptations for the civilian market. This particular truck was intended to be built in to an 18 ft to 24 ft expedition RV, but the owners never went through with the build. The main differences between the military version and this truck are:
1) This truck is new (you can't buy a new military truck)
2) Equipped with quieter, smoother running, and much more reliable Cummins ISB engine (vs military CAT engine which is plagued with inevitable injector problems)
3) Complies with Federal emissions standards
4) Easy to use on / off headlight switch
5) Keyed ignition
6) Upgraded doorhandles as seen on the Acela Monterra
7) Factory installed air conditioning system.
The following modifications been done to the truck:
1) Cruise control added by authorized Cummins service center
2) Top speed has been increased from 58 MPH to 70 MPH. To accomplish this, gearing has been changed from original 7.8:1 ratio to 6.14.1 and ECU has been updated to ensure shifts occur at the proper points and the speedometer reads accurately. This work was done by MTP Powertrain which a government contractor who rebuilds LMTV trucks for the US military.
3) The frame rails have been extended by 20 inches using existing bolt hole patterns on the frame. The wheelbase is 199 inches, vs 177 inches on a stock 6x6. This work was done by Crump Truck in MO in a very meticulous manner to ensure the structural integrity of the rails was not compromised. We can provide step photos taken while this process was done and a detailed explanation of the process on request.
4) A 4 point independent subframe was custom engineered for the truck by Holden Trailers and installed by Crump Truck. The subframes is specifically designed to accommodate an 18' Bliss Mobile RV body which attaches to the frame using standard shipping container attachment points. Engineering drawings available on request.
5) Hawker military issue extended lifespan Armasafe AGM batteries replaced with new ones in 2018 ($2,000 for 4 batteries).
The owner planned to do a DPF / DEF delete on the truck but never got that far into the build process. If you wish to free up space behind the cab and make it be able to run non USLD diesel, there are multiple shops across the country that easily can do this on a Cummins ISB truck. We recently got a quote for $5,000 to do the work and we can send you contact info for a shop to get it done at if this is something you are interested in.
Included in the truck photos is a sheet that contains all the detailed factory specs for the truck.
We have all the manuals for the truck including the service manuals. This truck was originally purchased by a member of the Expedition Portal forum directly from BAE. He had all the work done on the truck with the intention of building an 18' RV. Unfortunately his daughter was diagnosed with cancer and he ended up listing the truck for $149k to help pay medical bills. His cost for the truck from BAE was well above $150k plus a significant sum spent on the modifications. We purchased the truck in 2017 with the intention of building a 23 foot high end off-road RV. We never ended up doing it because our 3rd child was born right after we bought the truck. After thinking it over for a couple years, we decided we would go insane with 3 kids under 5 years old in a confined space, and as a result the truck would not be used enough to justify the estimated $450k cost of building the luxury camper body we designed. We finally wrote off the plan to build an RV and bought a yacht instead.
