I would expect them to be good at anything, except some bigtime hardcore rock crawling. Sounds like these are breaking way too easy, and AEV is not standing behind there design flaws. When people buy a high-end product they expect more.

How are they not standing behind it?

From what I've read, every person that has ever had a crack has had the wheel replaced free, no questions asked, with free shipping, etc. etc.

They are 100 Percent standing behind their product and have a lifetime warranty, and will replace any cracked aev wheel for free. I don't trust the pintler design however, but the savegre and this new one should be fine!.

Just to add they are also sending out a repair kit for free if you have one of their bumpers that get that line of discoloration or surface rust in the seams
they seem to stand behind their products

I like the design. Reminds me of a rally wheel from a WRC car.

Would look better in a different finish for me though.
