This is great news I have always loved the BFG KO and this fall I will be replacing the crappy tires that came on my truck. These tires would be nice but regardless I will be buying some BFG KO's.

I just got this response from BFG...

"We appreciate your interest in the new BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO. This tire is tentatively scheduled for release the last quarter of this year. This is the best information we have at this time."

We appreciate your business and thank you for choosing BFGoodrich.

Well that isn't going to work for me, guess I'll have to go with something else. They wouldn't make anything in my size anyway.

I think they look good too. The tread blocks look closer to General Tires AT. There is a whole lot more "competition" in the AT world and if you are not evolving, you will be left behind. The newer generations of truck owners are a little more "new is better" oriented. This site being a bit of an exception as we have more "tried and true" types.

I've never had, nor heard of a single sidewall issue with the BFG AT. Duratracs? Those have weak sidewalls.

I did an unplanned side by side comparison of the BFG and new Toyo AT II last night in re-freezing slush type snow. Both test vehicles were JKU Rubicons. The Toyo was hands down better. BFGs were still good, better than most ATs in fact, but I think the new Toyo is awesome.

Redthies, if you were going to get an `E´rated 37 inch tire for your pick-up now, would you go with the Toyo AT2, another Toyo tire, or a differerent brand altogether?
Taking into acount that I need a snow tire rated tire and also get into the mud every now and then, what would you choose?...:)

Hi Chilli. I think for our climate in BC, the Toyo MT is about as good as you can get. It is phenomenal in our wetter coastal snow. The new AT IIs I put on the Jeep are great as well, but if you have plans for mud, go MT. (Neither one has the snowflake thingy on them, but I cant see a cop hassling you with either one). I've been buying mine at 4wheel parts in Portland or Sorat in North Van. About the same price, but buying at 4wp means you get to go for a road trip!

Put the toyo AT II's on my RV. Very nice in the snow, but im not sure they have enough void for mud. Look at the M55 if your wanting a more mud tire.

Im needing new tires for my truck too, Id like to see the new BFG AT tread in person, but doubt they will be out before I need new tires....

I agree... Not only were they great 20 years ago they are STILL "THE" tire that everyone else chases and compares to. And honestly in this day and age of instant communication if there were any tire head and shoulders better they would become dominant. The BFG A/T just works. Rain or shine, snow or ice, mud, rock, desert. Arguably there is no other tire that is as good of an all around performer. AND durable/reliable. I hope they don't screw it up with cosmetics to compete against the Duratracks.

Exactly. I have had many sets over the last 20 years. I have used and abused them and never had a failure. They are so dependable that I stopped carrying a spare many years ago - just plugs, patches and OBA. Great wet weather traction, snow and ice, mud, you name it. Plus good mileage and great tread life.

Really about the best overall tire ever made.

I am not too keen on the new ones pictured in this threar - they look a bit show biz to me.

IMO, the AT was out of date 20 years ago, and for my use, they have been about the worst tire I've ever owned. I see nothing in the new tire to change that opinion. I'll stay with the Toyo AT2 XTreme.

My Toyos were a waste of money. Most expensive tire I ever bought and were worn out in under 20k. My BFG's don't show any signs of wear yet.

When the Duratracs came out I knew it was time for BFG to redesign the AT. But I don't think removing sipes and introducing a bulky sidewall is the answer. I think they look nice enough. I might even prefer the sidewall bling when I see it. But if these tires aren't mountain/snowflake equiped like the Duratrac then I will choose duratracs. Unless of course they make this in a 255/8R16 load range C. Then I would be all over this tire.

I notice the sidewall reads "All-Terrain KO2". The KO2 designation leads me to believe this will definitely be the new tire. I'm a long-time KO user, and a big fan of it; however, this tire makes me think I'll likely be looking for something different as a replacement when my KOs eventually wear out in another 4-5 years. Perhaps I'll buy a set to have in reserve when they go on closeout?

why is that? its the same tread with just a little different side wall...I am going to say that it will wear and ride exactly the same as the current tire.
