Having a closer look at that first pic...
That is a very interesting air intake setup you have there. One caution I will float by you is that metal air boxes are a recipe for potential problems. If you get any rust in there, and it gets lose, it will be sucked through the intake system. If you have a turbo that is even more of an issue and could result in a hefty repair bill. My recommendation would be to replace this system with a plastic air box (like a Donaldson).
Just my 2c worth...

the Air cleaner was just zip tied on for transporter. it was attached to the service body which was sold separately by the
old owner.

my sub-frame is flat, so the box floor is flat ...

mounting wasn't a consideration for floor shape, my mount is distinctively unique 3 + 4 (that's 3 point plus 4 helpers).

water tanks under floor suspended from sub-frame, between chassis rails

easier to build a rectangular box than anything else,

flexible layout inside,

easier fit out inside a rectangular box,

to follow on from Owen ..... making stuff simple is the hard bit! :)

The frame for my camper follows the step in the chassis, some follow the step, some make a flat tray. Like Owen said, doesn't really matter in the scheme of things, it's more for how you're going to use it. What does make a difference is how you join the frame to the chassis. Mines got fixed points at the rear, spring mounted at the front, to allow for movement. Lots of debate and discussion on mounting options in other threads here.
Have kept my spare wheels at the front next to the cab. Getting a housing built for them so I can put a storage bin on top. Means though that a pass thru isn't an option. Wife and I talked a lot about the pass thru feature, eventually deciding while it'd be nice it's not an overriding factor for us. It's also not a factor in getting the truck registered as a motorhome, which does make a difference in some states.
If you're after a tray, let me know. If the body builders haven't disposed of it, it's sitting around after they took it off and I've no use for it.
