What is the bolt with the 2 wires coming out if it called? My wires are ripped off and I suspect that is why my traction control is acting wonky, I'd like to either fix it or order up a new one to get it working.
I just got my wife an '01 limited and have been combing the threads for what to fix. Is there a preferred vendor to get parts from?
Thanks.
That's the front axle freewheel clutch switch (sometimes called the freewheel engage switch).
I have an '01 Ltd, too, and love it. Parts aren't as easy to find as with the far more common Toyotas and such, but a little Googling will solve your problem. I've bought parts from various Mitsu dealers around the country as well as from some of the larger parts supply places' websites. What I've found is that you basically get the part where you can, since any one place may not have all the bits that you want. My transfer case switches (similar sort of switch) came from Olympia Mitsubishi in Olympia, Washington.
The eBay seller "Mitsubishi Parts Central" in Dallas, TX has that switch for $48.00: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Freewheel-Clutch-Switch-Montero-Pajero-01-06-NEW-Genuine-Mitsubishi-Part-/380711764726?vxp=mtr&hash=item58a43082f6
