Hey guys, my name is Brian. I drive a 2001 Dodge Durango with quite a few mods. I'm a complete newb when it comes to off roading and expedition style camping. Don't laugh, but my truck used to be full time all wheel drive with a 4 inch drop on 20's. I decided it was time for something new so I swapped in a part time 4 wheel transfer case and put a 3 inch body lift and 2 inch suspension lift on 33 inch goodyear duratrac's. Right now I'm trying to decide between a roof top tent or a little guy rough rider teardrop. I'm leaning more towards the teardrop just for the wife's sake. Anyways, heres a few pics of my truck, before and after. I look forward to learning from you guys and hopefully contributing as well.

Thanks guys. I like it better now too, just wish that there was more aftermarket support for this platform.

That's one of the main reasons I went 1500/2500. Dakotas and Dangos are a great place to start, without anywhere to go but custom... Ask Nick02!

Don't worry about more mods...
there is so much to do here in the southwest that is fine in a bone stock rig that you will be looking at inside things long before you need outside mods :)

Ghost towns, mine ruins, cool hidden canyons and trails....just keep searching the trip reports from other Az folks or post up when you want to get out of town and I am sure plenty of us will be happy to play

I am in Tempe. Butcher Jones offroad park is lots of fun, makes me miss my xj.

We should all meet up some time and have a beer.

WOW! From lowered on 20's to swapping the transfer case, and lifted on 33 Mud's. That's awesome!

I lived in Prescott while becoming a helicopter flight instructor for a few years and couple years ago and am in the process of moving back. (from California..)
I cant wait to get out to AZ again. Chasing the freight trains out in gorgeous and sometimes snow covered northern Arizona with my kids was some of the best times of my life,
not to mention the great back country exploring and off roading.

Welcome to the forum.
