Thankyou. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to pressure wash the interior and rip out any remaining bits of debris, then prime and herculiner it.
Mine is a 67 Stevens as well.

I would like to replace the bearings on the axles and would appreciate info on kits to get to do so.

Bearings, inner and outer races and seals should have a National Stock Number on them somewhere. My suggestion would to pull these parts off one side and try to source them though a company like Bearing Headquarters. Even without any number on them, they can be measured up and replacements found.

Thanks for the links gentlemen.

I got the tub primed but paid for it, strained my damn back again.

Being 33 and having a touchy back really sucks.

I feel yah 2t2. I also am 33 and after a long day in the garage welding and working, I feel like I have been in a major car accident. The end result is always worth it though.

Speaking of, I would like to start my thread. If anyone could lead me to getting started it would be awesome

Wow. Looks awesome. I can't seem to get anything to load on my profile. Vehicle, pictures or anything else. Maybe I will search for directions

I use photobucket for images, and use the IMG link through PB.
The second coat was applied today too, it looks good. It'll be fun cleaning the liner off in spots where I need to weld in the future but I had to coat it before the rust made the tub a strainer. :Wow1:

Does anyone have or willing to provide measurements and pictures of the side marker brackets from an M416 trailer? I'd like fab up some that look like OEM parts for mine, then I need to find some actual side markers for it.

Front line military vehicles has bearing and race kits on eBay now. New seals as well. Check out their site and armyjeepparts.com. Between those two all you need!

Sweet, thankyou!
I need to figure out a pattern for paint. I plan on doing a NATO three tone on my trailer and my XJ. :victory:

I picked up some USGI trailer lights last weekend. I got the housing for both right and left sides of the trailer, plus a blackout light for looks. I disassembled them last night to take the guts out. One was east as hell and had no problems... The other one had two screws actually come out, the rest sheared off in the housing. I have a lot of broken screws to extract. Luckily I also bought new in the wrapper lens plates when I bought the lights.

all I need now is LED lights to put in them, as well as the mounting brackets themselves.

Are those the stock wheels? You mentioned getting military tires. Military and the LT tires people put on their M416 are very stiff and bounce. Even when aired down. I found out the hard way . I went with older CJ Jeep wheels and a 15 " tire. The trailer behave much better off road .

For what it's worth I have two 416 wheels F/S.
