Hey guys and ladies? New to this forum. I'm going to introduce myself, I'm James, from Mount Airy NC, east coast of the US. I am 24, have a degree in auto systems tech, started at a Subaru dealership as a tech few months ago and I have a part time pizza job. Now, I LOVE both of my jobs. When I was little, I was with my dad when he bought a 1994 mighty max 4x4 v6 brand new. We have had lots of fun times in that truck and still do as it is still in the family. Mechanically I take care of it since I do most of its driving....my dad is sense disabled not much of a driver any more. 2 months ago, I purchased a 1995 Montero LS with 167k miles for about $3200. Auto, 3.0, I assume it has a lift. with Rancho 5000 shocks, that probably need replacing. The interior is about 90% clean, some small stuff that needs fixed, no big deal. I haven't had much time to take my new rig off roading, Like I said, work two jobs and rarely have a day off. This past week I just dropped $1200 on some BFG T/A's. I am running 285/70/17's. I have attached a picture of it, I call it, The Monstrocity, and you can see my mighty max in the back ground. My future plans are to add a roof rack, which I already have, scored a $500 retail Surco rack from the local pull a part for $25! My next thing would be a snorkel. Would like to do a 2 inch body lift and maybe replace the current lift with a 2-3 lift. Switch to a manual trans, ARB front full guard, winch, and add some oem japan accessories like chrome trimmed tail lights, hatch ladder, different spare tire cover, front corner lamps, skid plates. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know!

Tried to edit the 1st post to include the picture, but it wouldn't save, so here it is!

I was thinking of swapping the 3.0 out for the 3.5. But, I also wanted to check into the 3.8 because I think I read on mightyram50 that you can stroke the 3.8 to a 4.1 (correct me if im wrong.) Definitely want to build this and keep it in the family. I think that Mitsubishi has some of the last true 4x4 in the market, climbing trees at no cost! XD

The 3.0 is a good engine, although not as much horsepower as its larger cousins. It is much simpler and inexpensive to maintain.

Which is true, however, I am looking for a good amount of torque to push this tank. especially if we have another two feet snow storm again :D
