Hi everyone! I'm an Italian very beginner adventurer and I'm looking for advices of any type and a Rooftop tent for my Defender but as I said I'm a very beginner so I don't really know which is best for me and my car. Unfortunately I'll have to wait till this COVID emergency will be ended but I really can't wait to travel to the USA!
I live near the town where a brand, Autohome, produces Rooftop Tents. Does anyone know if they're good?!
Thanks and, ADVENTURE!
(sorry for mistakes, my english it's a little bit rusted)

Hello...Welcome to the forum.I have heard wonderful things about that company.I personally have an ikamper.I think they are a great product. If your looking for a unit that has no fold out meaning a straight popup style.I would look at Bundtek and alucab.Do you have a budget?.Having a budget would change the outcome of options.oo another option would be the new odyssey aluminum hard shell by free spirit recreationa. It has a breathable insulated trilayer material ..so you have more insulation in the colder climates. It comes in a 49-55 configuration and is new to there lineup.

Autohome has a decent reputation, I have no first hand experience. An important consideration is what vehicle are you mounting it to? Many US vehicles have lower weight carrying capacity than overseas models. This means the fairly light weight fiberglass shelled products like the Autohome units are well suited, whereas a larger heavy duty canvas tent might not be. Plus number of people, etc...

Oh, I just re-read your question, and see you have a Defender. Awesome! Use whatever you can get, it will handle it

I wanted to be sure before buying an Autohome Maggiolina rooftop tent because it's my very first time on adventure and i don't want to mess it up maybe buying a wrong product. Thanks a lot guys!!!

I have owned an autohome airtop and just recently got an extreme. hands down the best roof top tent. And you live near the factory. Win. Win.

Stay well my friend. I’m looking forward to when all of us can travel again.
