Couple more pictures.
By narrowing the left side 4" the whole camper will be shifted 2" to the left. This leaves enough room for the Honda generator to fit between the basement & pickup box. A sliding drawer will be built into the "base" (separate unit that raises the cab-over to clear the cab). When I paint the base unit I will get some pictures. Lots to do before then.

Moving along slowly.
LP bay will be back left corner.
Small sink & two burner cook top built in with microwave shelf below.
"Overhead" bunk 42 x 70, while lower is 30 x 70.
Aluminum skin is in the garage now but the attachment details are still "up for grabs".
The original Palomino skin was applied with some kind of contact cement.
Hoping someone will inspire me.

Finished the foamboard.
Started cutting aluminum sheet.
First piece fits good....still haven't decided on the adhesive...availability might be the problem.
I might just use contact cement as Palomino did in 1986...held for 33 years? ?

Making a little progress.
Roof will be two panels. Had to fashion up a 2x4 brake to make the bend at the rear.
Front panel is next, will lap the rear panel and hopefully follow the front "roll"...?
I prevent the roof trim to assist with rolling down the front panel. I will detach the roof trim, apply the adhesive to the rafters & foam, seal the lap joint and hopefully will be able to use the pre-bent trim to assist in fitting that last piece of sheet metal.?

Last piece of aluminum. This piece laps the rear roof panel. I used 3M vhb about 2-1/2 inches in on the lap with 100% silicon on the first 1-1/2 of the lap. I hope it stays sealed forever..? The lap does fall on a rafters so it could be screwed down if push came to shove.
It's do finally starting to look like a camper. ?... (well sort of).

A little more progress.
All skin is on.
"Kitchen" done for now. Hooked up stove top, checked for leaks, works great.
Sink drain plumbed to rear.
Shore power wired to sink light, and two outlets (one is undercounter for microwave).
Need to add interior window trim and outside screw cover trim.
Lots to do yet before it goes into the truck.

Went in pretty easy.
Here are some pictures.
Tail gate closed as designed (whew).
Access door in base required a little planing as it hit the trim below the door.
Generator slide worked fine with Honda on it, still need tie down strap/lock for it.
Total height ended up 8 foot 8 inches.
Lots of finishing touches to do, I have the high mount brake light to mount yet.
Instead of painting the interior plywood my plan at present is to varnish/poly it but wanted it out of the garage first.

A little more progress.
Truck power to camper including; led high mount brake light, one 12 volt interior light, and auxillary port (cigarette lighter socket) for small inverter or phone charger.
Added generator door with lock for more security besides the locking tailgate.
Used aluminum from old camper for door so still needs bright white paint.
Added small folding table to the "kitchen".
Trimmed foam 72" top mattress down a couple inches to fit 70" and prevent buckling. Bottom bunk fits perfect.
Still need to varnish/poly the interior plywood waiting for dryer weather.

The silverado pulls it nice down the road, estimated dry weight is 500 lbs and the 72" max width cuts way less air than when it was 77". Mirror visibility is also great with the stock mirrors.

It looks like you could glue some solar panels to the roof pretty easily.

No leaks so far, haven't been on the road in the rain yet. I'm trusting the butyl puddy tape will do it's job (knock on wood).
There is a slight built in "crown" in the roof but depending on the solar mounting brackets there is about 6 feet x 4 feet of flat on the back slope.

I was thinking about gluing flexible panels directly to the roof.
