New Owner - Same Old Question

I'm sorry that my first post is going to be the same old "will this tire fit" nonsense that pops up all the time, but my searching hasn't been successful yet. I've finally got my first LR (2013 LR4 HSE Lux with the locking rear) and am looking at AT tire replacement options. The pages here describing 18, 19, and 20" options have been great, as is the chart at JohnsonRods.com. What I haven't found is any reference to people trying to cram a smaller rim onto the LR4.

I've got a line on 5 GoodYear Wrangler Duratrac LT 265/75 R16 tires with Land Rover Discovery Series II wheels ($400 for all 5 with 50-75% tread left). The deal is incredible but I really doubt I'll be able to fit the rotors and calipers into that smaller rim. Has anyone tried this?

Not 16 nor 17 inch wheels will fit due to the size of your brakes. You can fit an 18 from Compomotive out of the UK. What size wheels do you currently have?

Short answer. No. The LR3 wheels fit on some 4's but you need to shave calipers down a bit to clear, and they need spacers. D2 wheels are the wrong pattern anyway.

As a new owner you're only going to create a headache for yourself...

I have the 19s as well. Only ones in our size in a full MT are Atture trail blade MT

Those don't look too bad. It looks like GoodYear is selling the Duratrac in a 255/55R19 now, but they aren't severe snow rated. Same with the GoodYear AT Adventure in 255/60R19 which might get my vote as a nice compromise for on/off road.

Thanks again guys, looks like I'm back to the drawing board, (to lift or not to lift)

You can change the air suspension lift at will, if you have a GAP tool. If you're thinking about rods/spacers, don't. Same thing as wheels, why make a problem for yourself when the vehicle can be changed with a few clicks on your phone.

As others have said, 18" is the smallest we're able to run in the LR4. If you don't want to drop $800 a corner, take a look at the terraforma wheels from lucky8. They've been on my rig for about 10k miles, no issues yet. (They do require spacers though)
