new Pathfinder Concept coming

I have a Pathfinder SE 2006 and love it as well. For what I intend to do with, the IFS/IRS shouldn't be a problem. I have a bit more space than in the X and the ride is very nice even with a 2'' suspension lift (4X4 parts.com). Too bad this will be my last Pathfinder... Next vehicle will probably be an X.

Now look at the Truck / SUV on frame line..

Frontier (1.5 more years)
Xterra (1.5 more years)
Pathfinder (last year)

These all have shared the basic design and even size.. The Pathy got a V8 and independent rear suspension but really its not much different in size vs The Xterra..
Sure the Pathy had a 3rd row seating but who really wanted to get back there.

Now to the troubling class..

Crossovers

Juke
Rogue
Murano
Quest
and coming soon the Pathy

I know they need a price point for everyone, but at some point the lines get blurred a little.. The new Pathy is only slightly larger than the Murano..
Rogue gets a new start this year but Im guessing size wise it will stay the same.. Juke love it or hate it is in a class all its own.. And the Quest, Well it keeps getting uglier.
You think that is confusing, take a look at Toyota's suv/crossover options it is not much better.

In crossovers you have:
Rav4
Venza
Highlander

The Rav4 and Highlander both come with a 3rd row options. While the Venza and Highlander are both Camry based, and both start around the same price. MPG between all of them are pretty similar, at least for their V6 option(not surprising since it is the same v6 in all of them).

For standard SUVs you have:
FJ Cruiser
4Runner
Sequoia
Land Cruiser

All of them offer third row seating. Toyota offers 5 suvs with third row seating and three of them over lap in price. A fully loaded V6 Rav4 4x4 with the third row seating cost around $34k, the same as the larger Highlander and 4runner with their 3rd row option, thought the other two are base with 3rd row option(and mpg surprisingly is close at around 23-25mpg highway). Point is, it's not just Nissan that is confusing with their suv option, Toyota isn't much better.

Well I guess there's a new audience for it then. But for those who still love the Pathfinder when it started, guess we'll have to get those.
