new project!! 1947 bantam BT3

Bought this gem today up in new hampshire, its a 1947 Bantam BT3 C 1/4 ton trailer. I had been looking all over the place for a M416 or a C101 but the ones I could find were either rusted out or were commanding exorbitant prices... I'm going to start building this out to be a expedition trailer to carry my RTT, gas and water tanks, my ARB 60q fridge, and the rest of my camping equipment as I travel back westward this summer

the trailer is in decent condition considering it is 64 years old.. it has the original Fulcrum hitch, the landing feet although its broken . the only thing it is missing is the tailgate which seems to be impossible to find so I will see if i can get a piece of 1/4 inch steel cut to match the outline and bolt it to the back to make it a enclosed tub as these trailers actually had a tailgate unlike the other 1/4 ton trailers out there. there is only surface rust and a slight dollar sized hole thats rusted through in the bed, otherwise its very solid

it is exactly the same trailer as this one and when done, my build will be very similar, if not a twin to this one as shown in the build thread here:

hope will doesn't mind!

I tried to buy that trailer, good to see someone here get it. Good luck with it!
Let see pictures as you build it up.

this is what i have so far... mounted the RTT to the stake pockets using proline crossrack and rain gutter mounts and also installed an ammo box on the tongue

waiting for the tailgate before i do anything else as im not sure what direction i want to go as far as outfitting it.
