As of January this year, my Gen2 has primarily served as my weekend truck (commuting on 37's ain't the brightest idea in world) and I've been driving the wife's CRV as my M-F daily. After about a month of driving the emasculating CRV (just kidding they're great cars) I convinced the wife we should get a Gen3 for kid, grocery, road trip duty. It's been a pretty fruitless endeavor which spanned multiple states and multiple missed opportunities.
Most recently, I missed out on buying a sweet Gen3 I had found in Cali and out of frustration just typed a simple google search for 2005 Montero and this popped up less than 5 miles away.....talk about lucky.....
74,000 miles, absolutely pristine interior, one owner, garage kept and only driven in AZ winters (snowbird that only lived here 8 months out of year). Needless to say we bought it.
A buddy from the local Montero collective here in AZ has graciously donated his OEM wheels (which are being powder-coated) and I'd like to paint the two-tone so that it's all white. Since this will serve primarily as road warrior I certainly won't get as crazy as I did with my '97 SR.........but there will be few goodies tacked on.
