Well im new around here...and this is just pretty much a picture thread about my truck. Just some background info. Its an 86 ext. cab pickup. I have a buick 3.8L motor. Cams, performer intake, holley carb,MSD ignition,headers/dual exhaust. It started out looking like this.

Than it was time for a new interior. You remember the old bucket seats and grey interior? Well here it is now

That puts me to day. Im desighning a custom cloth enclose for the back. Something I can have on there when I go campnig. Throw an air matress in th ebed to sleep and have a room over my head. I'll be searching around the site for ideas. Hope you all enjoy the "stages of my truck" Next for me are custom built front and rear bumpers/sliders. Front/rear winch, incab rollcage and chopping the bed. (search toyota forums for bobbed bed) It will get a solid axle swap sooner or later aswell. coments and quesions more than welcome

If you have a buick 3.8 in there then you need to get that thing turbocharged and intercooled. Trust me. I'm a member of the darkside:D

Welcome to ExPo!

Where are you from? ( Or did I miss that? ) All those pines in your pics remind me of the Pine Barrens here in South Jersey.

How are you liking the new seats? A few (OK, many) of us in Toyotas covet better seats, and I for one would like more information on what you installed and how you like them.

Um, I just saw the Jersey licence plate in one of your pics...those trees DID look familiar! Now I'm more curious about the seats too. Where did you get them, if local, and were you able to try them out before buying?

Nice truck, BTW. Any trouble getting inspection to pass with the 3.8? I don't remember the rules for an '86. Do you still get smogged over 20 years old? Or does the truck pass smog on its own?

Sorry for all the questions...again, welcome to ExPo!

Look great! Love it when all the blood sweat and beers (Mtn Dew in your case from the pics) pays off.

What's going to be next?

NJTACO...I live in Medford NJ! Let me know where your from...if your local you can check the seats out. They are made my 3racing. I actually got them from a buddy who was going to run them in his ranger and decided against it. they were VERY eay to install. I replaced my old worn out buckets, and these babies are comfy!

As far as next mods....Here is part of my list
Buying a small welder
Building front/rear bumpers
Sliders
belly up skid
incan rollcage
GPS of some sort, probably just a small portable unit
reverse camera with LCD screen in cab
winches front and rear
Some new wheels (beadlocks)
and 4 hella500s uptop on the roll bar.

None of these are in exact order...but thats what I have in mind. Also building it into a truck for camping/fishing...so i'll have some sort of tent that opens over the bed, with an air mattress to sleep on. A cooler will be positioned somewhere in the bed aswell. I also have plans for onboard air and an onboard welder. Being 19..ITS A LOT, but I'll hve this a while and it will get done. BTW the buick 3.8L sounds nice in there and gives me gobs of power. and yes...a lot of blood sweat and mountain dew goes into my Yota.

Well...if you cant tell haha, i'll tell you ;-) I sanded and painted the truck in my driveway with semi gloss spray bombs. I'de like to put some real paint on it sooner than later. BUT It looks ok enuogh for now. Mor eimportant mods to be done first

WOW someone actualy noticed my devilduck 4WD shifter HAHA. Sweet. Thats actually a rubber duck I had around from god knows what. It turned into a joke between my girlfriend and I. After i redid the interior, i put it in there to make her laugh. I went and picked her up fomr college and as soon as she got in the truck she BURTS out laughing because of the duck. So it stays.

That paint is awsome stuff! You can see I did the inside door panels with the greay, and the entire dash/roof with the black. It really came out awsome.
