How does the 5.9 feel compared to the 7.3? I'd really like to know the difference with a 4000 lb load.
I've got an 87 6.9 turbo, zf5, runs great but no intercooler and rather underpowered. Chugs along like a tank, though.
Looks great!

Did you "massage" the firewall for clearance to the rear rocker cover? I have been following a few of these swaps on Cummins Forum, and it always seems like guys are making life hard for themselves. Looks like you did an intercooler too?

no there was no need to massage the firewall we didnt move the trans back at all so the firewall has plenty on clearance and i think it has alot to do with what you do with your motor mounts as well. i dropped the motor as low as i could and that helped out with alot of potential clearance issues .. and yes im running a 99 super duty innercooler its far better then the stock cummins one and fits rather well in the truck

Uncle Jesse,

This swap has also crept into my thoughts for my 97 F350 and the axle swap is nearing completion . . .

The guys at Destroked said they move the transmission back in order to maintain the 6BT mechanical fan as they have had cooling problems with the electric units.

Did you go mechanical or electric?

Nice looking truck and swap, Chris.
