Adobe just announced an updated set of apps for tablet computers. The apps include:
-- Photoshop Touch, a limited version of the desktop software with support for touch input
-- Adobe Collage, a workspace that lets you collect images drawings and text, and then save in a format that desktop Photoshop can work with
-- Adobe Debut lets you display desktop Photoshop layers and Illustrator files on the tablet, and annotate with text, as you might in a meeting with a client

The apps will be available for Android and ISO tablets. Each new tablet app will cost $10, and will be available in November.

Adobe and Apple haven't been getting along for a while now. One result is that the Android version of PS Touch is ready, and the iPad version has not been released.

Today, Adobe released Photoshop Touch for the iPad. Price $10. It's available through the iTunes store. Note that Photoshop Touch works only with the iPad 2 running iOS 5.

People criticize Photoshop Touch for its limitations compared to the desktop Photoshop, but that's unfair, in my opinion. Photoshop is good at what it's intended to do, which is to quickly manipulate photos captured by mobile devices, and post them to Facebook. It's a more sophisticated version of Instagram's photo editor, which was Apple's choice for best iOS app last year.
