"Man, I just don't see three thousand dollars sitting there. Same thing with the Adventure Trailers for five thousand dollars. Sounds like a BUNCH of mark-up. "

Raw materials are one thing and you'd be surprised at how much all the little bits cost that you don't see.........the time to build a decent box section frame by hand, rather than an angle iron flat packed from china, adds a huge amount to the cost.

Try building one and you'll soon see why they cost what they do........

Cool trailers, nonetheless, and I wish I had one. Yeah, I'm just jealous of the guys who will actually part with that much money for something so small.

.

I thought the same thing until you figure in steel (which has tripled in the last 5 years), axles + parts, labor to cut out the parts, labor for welding-(material for welding gas & wire, etc.) paint or powder coat, insurance, government fees to operate a business, Tax's, Shop Overhead. etc. etc. etc..

I agree that's a good price considering all the amount of metal, labor and planning .

Nice trailer , I agree 3k is not that out of line . I have 4 or 5 weekends and $1200 in receipts and I'm still adding parts . Again nice work.

Hello,

Name is Chris and yes that is my Trailer. Thank you for all the comments on the Trailer, especially from Martyn that mean's a lot.

This is my first prototype I did use another trailer from a company that went out of business about 7 years ago as a basic design. I change the frame design a bit to make it stronger and changed how the assembly of the box part of the trailer.

It has been slow going on getting everything up and running. This is due to another business that I have that has been taking up all of my time.

Yes the Side Marker lights are the dual purpose lights.
Welcome!

I too find it amazing how fast a "Little" project can turn into unexpectedly large coins. My solution is to quit keeping track, though that would hardly work for something I want to sell. I'm working on a possible off road item right now and just the material cost puts it a step beyond it's competitor's pricing. Will definitely be an up-scale market.....
