New truck! My first land Cruiser

Just took delivery of it today.

Heres the story:

I had sold my diesel land rover defender 90 a month ago b/c although fun, funky, and great in the trails... it was not as practcial of a vehicle as i would have liked. (and by I i mean the wife).

So i started looking into land cruisers and got set on a 100 series.

Originally the plan was to find an already built truck but I got impatient, and with a wad of cash burning a hole in my pocket from the defender sale i pulled the trigger on a 1998 LC w/ 127k miles, totally stock.... sight unseen! It looked very clean, and i had great conversation w/ the seller. It was a california and colorado truck and showed no rust at all ( i refuse to ever buy a truck from the North East - the salt here is ridiculous... and if I Ever drive this in snow here I will douse it with Waxoyl and WD-40 before each drive.!)

Just so happens the seller was minutes from Slee off road.... so after the transaction was done i had him drop it off at Slee where Amory was a gem to deal with, and hooked me up with some goodies

TJM T13 outback front bumper
Full skid plate system (Aluminum where available)
Front wheel bearing/hub service
New brake pads (while it was apart)
2.5" ARB lift w/ diff drop kit

I would have had them provide a rear bumper but their fab shop was moving an they were going to be out of stock for some time...... so I calll Mike from Bump it Off road and he too was a gem to deal with. Although i haven't received the sliders or bumpers i ordered from him just yet, i'm sure they will be up to my expectations.

Anyways - i'm looking forward to alot of fun in this truck (with slightly more lux than the defender offered and a bit less down time :sombrero: )

New tires are being put on the original alloys (bye bye chrome wheels) tomorrow... Once done ( in a month or so.... then again i'm sure i'll never be totally done).. I'll make a build thread. I have a few other goodies sitting in the garage ready to go on.

Hope to do alot of camping and long "off the radar" trips with the Wife and Dog in this one.... and kids too one day when the time comes.
