you asked about AHC or OME lift...

you pretty much have 2 easy options,

Adjust the sensors to achieve a AHC lift, or get the Slee override system.

Get a full OME kit with Torsion bars, shocks, and Springs.

I wouldn't get rid of AHC untill it dies. you can lower the 100 for parking lots (i scrape in anything lower than 7 feet).

I run 34's (BFG AT 295 are a 33.5 i think) and a 2.5" OME lift with an ARB front.

no rubbing at all. in fact when i set the truck to HIGH there is so much room I feel I can fit a much wider and taller tire. i plan to get slee"s AHC override to run the truck in HIGH mode all the time. after i add the ARB bumpers if the weight it to much I'll remover the AHC and do a proper lift. If you did not catch it the pics i posted are in LOW mode

Roof Rack

Looking to get a full Frontrunner rack. Anyone have one on their truck and would like to post some pics ? How hard is it to get the factory rack off ?

Factory rack is easy to remove. Pop off the plastic end caps with your bare hand and unscrew the torx bolts.

Just a couple comments on your build plans... it is difficult to find a location for a full sized 2nd battery under the hood but if you remove the AHC and its pump, Slee sells a battery tray that goes in its place. Another option albeit $$$ is to buy the Australian/middle eastern spec airbox (~$750) and the OEM battery tray and you'll be able to fit a 2nd battery opposite side of your original battery.

You can fit the ARB Combination Bar if you prefer it over the Sahara. Just need to cut the upper light/antenna tabs off the bumper.

You can add load capacity to the AHC with airbags (~$100). You can also replace the springs/t-bars.

Great info thank you ! I will pull the old rack off this weekend to get a jump on the frontrunner install. I am going to leave the AHC for now but I plan on removing the whole system when the rig gets fully loaded with all the gear I am planning. Any source for that airbox you spoke of ?

This is the AUS/Middle East OEM airbox and the associated plumbing. Also you would need to relocate the PS fluid reservoir. The part numbers are also in there somewhere. Your engine cover would need to be removed or modded.

As for parts source, try Cruiserdan at American Toyota. He can get some foreign parts but I don't know about this. Also try Dave Steadman of Japan4x4. Last resort, try any of the Toyota dealers in Australia or Middle East.

The end product will look like this.

Can i squeeze 2 optima or odessys in the stock location ? What do you guys think about one large amperage battery ?

Yeah, you can fit two smaller batteries in the stock location but I think I'd rather do one large Group 31 battery there and then a smaller "jumper" battery between the airbox and the AHC pump.

Planning on taking the rig to Terry and removing the AHC. Installing OME springs, torsion bars, Nitro Sport shocks and JT's a-arms. Then I will add Slee sliders, ARB front and rear bumpers, Adventure Trailers drawers.

Stay tuned
