Not sure if anyone would be interested but this is the first time I see those available locally. Not associated, just stumbled across the add...

Hi Red,

Great news !
Thank you for sharing.

Would you know how about how far he's driven with them ? Noise, winter use, etc. ?

Michelin has no interest to even know about these tires. I contacted them and they could care less. The Michelins are prohibitively expensive, if one can even find them.

I've been looking at these copies for a while, as I need a very tall, skinny tire, but they are an unknown for quality, performance, future availability, etc.

The only alternatives are the STA Superlug bias-ply and the Interco SSR 35x10.50R16, which I have now, but need a taller tire for the gearing we have.

Like the STA, but don't know about going to a bias-ply...

I talked to Interco and they mentioned they might have new products coming out, if the business environment will support it, but guessing that's iffy at best.

Am a bit loath to go for knock-off tires, but this fellow seems to be happy with them and favors them to the Michelins.

Must admit, am really beginning to re-think these knock-offs...

I talked to the owner. He seems to be happy with the tires.

When I spoke to him it was last summer and I don't think he winter drives the dually, although snow isn't a big factor where he lives. I think the quality is on par with other "off brand" tires (ie: not Michelin). They are made for the Chinese military to run on there trucks etc, so I would imagine they would last a very long time on our "regular" vehicles. Having looked at prices for Toyos etc I'm going to give these some thought as well, although they may be a bit tall when the camper goes on.

Thanks for the input on the quality ! Makes sense. They are not Michelins...

Agreed. Price is going to be a big factor in the final decision on the tires, as the SSRs are now each more than $100 more than when I put them on. The STAs are the least cost choice, but they are bias-ply...

The Toyos would be nice to have. Again, need a tall and narrow tire.

LOL ! Good point. We're at about 8 feet tall with the SSRs...

I was very interested in a set of those yellowsea tires, i wont lie i am still somewhat interested if I can figure out the balance of pros and cons.
If that is the same guy selling them on ebay, i contacted him about the weight and said they were about 90lbs each tire! That is a very heavy tire! I have a gen1 LWB montero with the 3.0L v6 and I can notice a power loss with 32" tires i have on it now compared to stock. The montero is completely stock and yes the v6 is tired and old. With the stock 28" or 29" that it had on stock alloys it had much more power and the suspension felt much more active, but i wanted a more rugged look so i mounted 245/75/17 hankook RF10 A/T tires on FJ 17" steel rims and the overall performance decrease was significant enough for me to notice immediately, also i must not forget to mention what it did to my fuel economy.
The aforementioned wheel combo weighs in at 68.6lbs. (Tire 38.6lbs and fj steelie 30lbs). I cant imagine what adding another 50lbs of tire per wheel (x4) would do to my poor montero, my steering and suspension would probably explode! If the yellowsea tires perform as well or better than the michelins i suspect they would last almost forever, and you could leave your vehicle parked for a very long time without losing much air or worry about tire deformation or flat spotting. If I was to do a round the world trip or even a north/south american trip and wanted an indestructible tire i would get these as well as upgrade the suspension, steering, powertrain, and drivetrain systems. Or I could just buy an armored vehicle and call it a day 😄

All of that set aside, it is a great looking tire with a proven tread design that I wish was available in different sizes and a whole hell of a lot lighter.

Shocker

VanDOOM!
Well, I think the tire is way overkill for the Montero. Too tall and heavy. I would look at the ST Maxx instead.
