ok so i have been searching and searching for stuff to transform my 2001 expedition into an expedition vehicle well probably more of a weekend getaway vehicle. but it is really limited in the aftermarket area. and i had a post on here to see if i could dig up any pics but no luck yet. but as i have been sifting through this forum and google to get more and more ideas its starting to take shape in my head. so this is how my build list looks so far

37/12.50/16.5 bf goodrich baja t/a why 37's and in 16.5? they were free.

Recentered hmmwv wheels, because they are fairly cheap double bead locks and meet the 16.5" requirement for the tires.

RCD 5" lift

A to Z tire carrier builder kit got it in the 5.5" circle i plan on drilling a 5x135 pattern. all i need to do is fab it up with a home made rear bumper.

On board air tanks on a bracket bolted in where the factory spare was.

I'm still brainstorming the front bumper. haven't seen any winch bumpers i like, don't really want a 200lb chunk of metal on the front. although i might steal the idea from the guy that did the black trailblazer with the waag brush guard if i can figure out a good way to make it fairly light.

i know its going to be big and heavy but like i said, it's going to be used as a weekend getaway vehicle maybe a week at the most i dont plan on going on a 2 month long trek across africa in it. i just want to get far enough away from civilization to get a good breath.

does anyone have any input? any suggestions?

The RCD suspension is great stuff. I had a 6" kit in my 03 Tundra and it was amazing! That truck had the best ride ever...

good. i really haven't been able to find in depth install instructions on the lift to see exactly what it involves but I've heard they are pretty good. i'm really excited to get this thing started.

just ordered a winch. went with the warn 9.0Rc got this one because it is small and light. rated at 9000lbs comes with 50', 3/8" synthetic rope, yeah i know 50' isnt much but i can keep some extensions in the back. i liked that it was only about 50lbs i want to keep the front end as light as possible. now i'll have it on hand when i get into building the front bumper. :wings:
