285/75/16s will fit with no spacer needed. Ran em on mine on factory 16 rims for years. Ran 34 LTBs also with no rubbing. Nice rig. I cant remember if brake clearance was an issue when going to 16s. I think there was a thread on this somewhere on here. Maybe it was for gen 3s wanting to run 15" rims. Just giving you a heads up to check that before you buy 16s.

In general from what I have found is that same brand tires (similar size) in 17" vs 16" are $50 each more expensive.

When I last loked, the opposite was true for the 255 ST Maxx- the 17" Tires were actually cheaper- Not sure why, but they might be actively going after the JK crowd- its a perfect size for the Wrangler.
