I just saw a link to this site where there is a review of the D3s. Nikon's high ISO performance is entering crazy land. Check out how clean the ISO 12800 samples are. I had to remind myself that I was looking at a shot taken at "ISO 12800!!!!!!":Wow1::Wow1::Wow1: As for how this may apply to many of us here, just think of what this means for outdoor night photography...

That's just amazing...thanks for the link LC. I recently was able to take a friends d700 out for a test drive and was just awe struck. Nikon is doing some amazing work.

I can't imagine an ISO number that high. I remember pushing old Tri-X to 8000 and a million hours in the soup at ridiculous cold temps to keep some grain down and minimize contrastiness... NOT always successful.:drool:
