I don't think today is THAT day. I thought it would be, but it seems it is not. Still, there are some tempting little nuggets in the Coolpix lineup. Sorry for the false alarm.

I will be happy when Nikon has a decent answer for the Canon S95. I'm a nikon guy but that S95 just seemed too awesome to pass up.

If I want a photo-photo, then I'll bust out some FX action. But for point and shoot with good image quality, its hard to beat.

Also the P7100...too much going on there. It looks like a porcupine with everything going on there.

The announcement was such an unbelievable disappointment...Nikon underwhelmed again. Hopefully the D4/D800/D400/whatever announcement makes up for it.

I am waiting for the mirrorless if it uses standard nikon mount lenses which I recently read it won't have so.. not really excited about anything as the D4-800-400 are all out of the budget anyway.

I'm getting a pink one with the additional 10mm lens. I want to be 'tourist stealthy' when I'm snapping digital pics. My buddy at Nikon told me it's actually a pretty cool camera. Manual modes, manual focus, RAW, small, 1080p...seems pretty good. I will post NEF's when I get some from him.

You can download a bunch of NEF's here.

Now I know you can use full manual as well as A,S,and P modes, but after looking at the cameras dials and buttons, I can't for the life of me figure out how this is going to be done easily without diving into the menus, and those prices are too high if you ask me. On the plus side, the hybrid autofocus looks great.

Overall though I'm somewhat disappointed. I wish Nikon would have made this...
