Nissan Frontier OME lift kit problem?

DSC_0037.JPGDSC_0040.JPGDSC_0041.JPGDSC_0043.JPGDSC_0046.JPG

My problem is when my truck is weighted and the suspension takes up I cannot or should not tighten the nut on top of the shock absorber any more. OME did not supply an instruction manual as they did with my jeep. So I don't know if I was supposed to have another part that locks the shock absorber into that top collar that mounts the coilover to the truck. I'm very amatuer at auto repairs as you can tell. I'm sure I did something stupid so be kind. Any advice would be nice. When the truck is weighted I can free spin the top part of the shock absorber.

I don't understand what you are asking. Are you saying you can spin the the top nut or the actual top of the shock absorber? When you got the kit, did you get the springs already assembled or did you dis assemble yours then transfer the parts over?

The stantion will rotate in the shock body, but as long as there is no vertical movement between the top of the shock mount, then I don't think there should be an issue. I will take a look at mine tomorrow.

there is upward and downward movement in the elastic sense. The upper shock mount is what is flexing. I'm thinking there should be something to compress the mount to make it more firm. I have no idea though. If you have an OME lift could you take some pictures to compare them to mine. Thanks.

I can see the upper bushing and washer in one pic but can't tell if the lower one is in place. If it's not, you would have the slop I think you're describing (Don't ask me how I know this!)

The kit didn't come with one and that's what I thought the problem was. I'll have to go to the hardware store and pick one up. So pretty much it needs a nut and washer on the bottom, then the mount, then the other washer and nut. I was hesitant to add to the kit, but that is what made sense to me.

Just a washer and a bushing. I used a couple from my stock shocks. Unfortunate you have to pull the whole thing out again

Yeah it does suck a little that I have to pull it out again but you know that's the cost of an education. Gets me out of the house and gives me some more wrench time.
