Nissan Pathfinder Rear trunk door not staying open

Well, I've not had the opportunity to use this vehicle for overlanding yet, but the rear door on our 2007 Nissan Pathfinder is not staying open.

Any ideas on a cheap, quick fix?

I'm not 100% sure about the 07 Pathy, but I am assuming that it uses hydraulic struts like the ones I had on my '92, my '01 and on my '11 Xterra. If that is the case, you can just replace the struts.

Here is a link to a HOW TO for the Xterra. Should be about the same, you just need to order the right struts. You can probably find some aftermarket ones that have a higher load capacity than stock, too...for those extra cold mornings. :)

Hope that helps a little.

Just go to advanced auto or your local store and get a set of replacement "lift supports". Just put a new pair on my mom's MDX only cost me 40 bucks for the set.

Not to sound like an advert, but Rock Auto is great for that kind of thing. I bought my upgraded struts from them for literally half price, and they have extremely fast shipping.

Liftsupportdepot.com has hooked up man ih8mud members on LC hood and liftgate struts, I've got some on my 100 Series that are running strong. Not sure if they offer Nissan struts but their prices smoked all others, worth a check.
